About US

Building the future

Kirat was set up in the summer of 2012 by a small group of graduates and professionals with the aim to bridge the gap between university and post university life. A robust alumni network was much needed that represented the Sikh community, one that would strengthen communication between alumni and universities as well as leveling us with other Alumni groups.

Creating an environment in which to maintain and develop sustainable links between alumni, professionals, students and Sikh societies across the UK.

Allowing graduates to remain connected to their university and a wider professional network whilst supporting university student’s professional development.

Continuing the process of life time learning, moral and spiritual support through four main areas of focus – mentoring, networking, dissertation support and donation.

Our Founding Team

The original founding team of Kirat.info comprised five individuals:

architect Ranjeet Singh, post-graduate Gagandeep Kaur, multi-disciplinary artist Narvir Singh, insurance broker Priya Kaur, and aerospace engineer Iqbal Singh.

Today the Kirat.info project is run by volunteers from the Sikh Education Council.

When we started life we began by putting on public events highlighting a range of Sikhs working in differing fields.
